Smooth Skate (Dipturus innominata)

Description

Generally more grey-coloured than the Rough Skate with a smooth skin, one to three rows of spines, a more pointed snout, and a flatter disc.

Smooth Skate are members of the Rajidae family (skates). They are closely related to the Rough Skate (D.nasutus) although usually they grow larger. They are found in deeper waters to 200 metres.
